Pelumi Fadare

Pelumi Fadare is a 23-year-old Nigerian born Spanish entrepreneur. She co-founded ApplicAid, an online platform that helps students in need of guidance and financial support when applying for educational opportunities, through pairing them with experienced mentors that will give them one-on-one personalized assistance during their application process and significantly increase their chances of success. Ms. Fadare also created a YouTube channel, called Ninjanspiration, devoted to providing youths with educational funded opportunities, such as international conferences and study abroad programs.  One of her life purposes is to serve as a cultural bridge that links people of different languages and values. Therefore, after her Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting at Pompeu Fabra University in Spain and two Erasmus Programs in Intercultural Studies (Germany and Austria), she interned in European Projects and International Relations with Catalan Tourist Board (CTB), under the Spanish Ministry of Business and Enterprise. She also completed my Master’s degree in Business  Management at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and now undergoing a Master’s in Social Media Strategy and Management. She has lived in 10 countries across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Americas (thanks to various study grants and scholarships). She is fluent in 8 languages, four of them are her mother tongue (Yoruba, English, Spanish and Catalan) and have mastered German, French, Arabic, Italian, and completed a Chinese Intensive Language and Culture Program at the National Taipei University of Education in Taiwan. 

She was 18 when she gave a speech at the United Nations after winning (out of over 3,000 applicants) Many Languages, One World Essay Contest. She is an active member of different youth organizations, including AIESEC, UNSA Barcelona, Be.boosted, Erasmus+ learning mobility for youth workers, Waves of Democracy, and Model United Nations Community, and also interned at MUNplanet Headquarters in Belgrade. A beneficiary of multiple scholarships: a university Summer Course Grant at the Freie Universität Berlin, The Ibn Battuta Merit Scholarship program for Arabic studies in Morocco, as well as, subsidy for a month program in France promoting the French language as a tool for cultural respect through Amicif International Francophone Centers of Lions Clubs.
