In lieu of the ever developing Africa, Agility Africa launched the Modern Africa Photo Competition, a second running of its kind.
The 2nd Annual Modern Africa Photo Competition is aimed to inspire and showcase images that signify the pace changes across our continent. Open to professional and amateur photographers above 18 years of age, the competition highlights Africa’s process in the following areas: (1) New technology (2) cities and (3) industries.
“Across our Africa business, we’re seeing the impact infrastructure improvements and technology are making in African life,” Geoffrey White says, CEO of Agility Africa. “The contest is an engaging way for us to try to reflect the modernization we see, from sustainable farming to manufacturing to energy production. Our hope is that perceptions of Africa will become more balanced, and people elsewhere will come to see Africa as an increasingly significant contributor to the world economy.”
With the competition running from June 1st to September 1st this year, winners will receive USD $2000 Cash prize in each category, with an overall USD 2000 cash prize to the best overall image. Additionally, the winners’ work will be published on Forbes Africa with winning photographs shown on CNBC Africa.
